you
by Anita Dapperens
you never caught my eye before
though you stand out in any crowd
I despised you, to be honest
thought you conceited and proud
my view of you was narrowminded
but your tenacity to reach me strong
you broke through my defences
I am pleased you proved me wrong
I was deceived one time too many
leaving me bitter and scarred
love had no meaning to me, before
you wormed your way into my heart
anyone knows I am kind nor gentle
yet you accept me as I am
others may frown upon this match
but you dont seem to give a damn
now I think youre beautiful
with your smile and boyish charms
I can conquer anything
when I hold you in my arms

English Poetry
my English teacher
stars threw their spears
sanity
dawn's beauty
broken
love's cry
dreams of joy
bliss
the thorns of love
end of the tunnel
after storm
infinite love
banishing ghosts
fighting depression
drowning
bittersweet victory
cruel indifference
saying goodbye
heartstrings
the sun
the tragedy of want
as the world turns
you
full moon
just once
moving
when I look at you
brothers
courting
