PG 
Parental guidance warning; parental supervision required for younger viewers. Mild swear words or allusions to violence.

PG-13
Parents strongly cautioned; not recommended for under 13. Might contain some tempered violence, foul language and/or allusions to sex. 

PG-15
Parental Guidance warning; you should be 15 to read this. Contains some darker or fairly violent scenes, allusions to sex and/or a homosexual relationship (referred to as slash), emotional turmoil, character death. If you don't like it, don't read it.

R 
Please be warned! Restricted and not recommend for under 17. Contains one or more of the following: fairly graphic descriptions of violence, bad language, strong allusions to or more detailed descriptions of sex, strong or disturbing emotional unrest. Again, if you don't like this, don't read it.

NC-17 (classified 18 in the UK)
